Job Description

The Senior Quality Engineer will provide leadership and coordination of Inphi's supplier quality management, quality systems, and corrective/preventative actions management. They will ensure the company's quality systems and procedures conform to generally accepted practices that enable best in class quality. A primary focus will be on managing quality issues with suppliers from preventative monitoring of supplier quality metrics to driving supplier corrective actions as necessitated by customer returns or incoming quality inspection rejects. Must have excellent problem solving skills.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead QBR efforts across all supply chains by defining, monitoring, and reporting supplier quality metrics and ensuring feedback from other groups that interact with suppliers
  • Audit suppliers as necessary for assessment of supplier quality systems, manufacturing quality assurance methodology
  • Support and manage audits by suppliers and outside standards auditors (e.g. ISO)
  • Leadership of maintaining ISO compliance and system implementations in support of quality systems
  • Direct and coordinate all corrective and preventative actions with supply chain and verify effectiveness
  • Create database in SharePoint for tracking CARs/RMAs/FAs from RMA issue to MRB disposition
  • Monitor and analyze monthly performance on CARs internally and by suppliers
  • Contribute and participate in quality management reviews
  • Maintain RoHS compliance records and documentation and provide to customers as requested
  • Develop processes for MRB, test program, release, monitor control on test revisions, and other product manufacturing/supply chain processes as needed
  • Complete customer quality questionnaires
  • Conduct/manage internal audits

Requirements
  • Minimum BS/MS in materials science or electrical engineering
  • 5+ years experience managing supplier quality
  • 5+ years experience in some aspect of semiconductor manufacturing such as package assembly, yield engineering, product engineering, integration engineering, etc.
  • Good knowledge of plastic and ceramic packaging
  • Audit experience of supply chain and suppliers
  • Track record of driving problem solutions with suppliers from defining the problem, to root cause determination, implementation of corrective actions, and verification of effectiveness
  • Experience managing supply chain through quality and manufacturing
  • Excellent written and speaking skills required
  • Some travel (domestic and international) to suppliers required
  • Good team player and ability to work well with product, test and package engineering
  • Experience with a start-up/pre-IPO company
