Application Architect: ACE Limited/ACE INA

RESPONSIBILITIES

? Provides design recommendations based on long-term IT organization strategy. Uses enterprise level application standards and designs custom integration solutions including major enhancements and interfaces, functions and features.

? Provides expertise regarding the integration of applications across the application or portfolio. Plans, designs, and develops software solutions, utilizing appropriate software engineering processes-either individually or in concert with project team.

? Partners with Solution Architect and Global Architecture unit to develop/utilize programming and development standards and procedures as well as programming architectures for code reuse. Assists in issue resolution.

? Understands and consistently applies the attributes and processes of current application development methodologies.

? Viewed both internally and externally as a technical expert and critical technical resource across multiple disciplines. Acts as an internal consultant, advocate, mentor and change agent. .

QUALIFICATIONS

? Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience.

? 7-10+ years experience architecting, developing, deploying and supporting complex computing applications in a large scale environment

? Candidate must be able to articulate strategy and direction for technology and architecture throughout the organization to support systems delivery

? Experience developing and architecting object-orientated applications using either .Net or JEE Frameworks – expertise in both ,Net and JEE a strong plus

? Demonstrated proficiency in designing distributed applications in which multiple operating systems, languages, and vendor middleware interoperate.

? Proven experience on enterprise systems integration projects

? UML expertise e.g. Statecharts, Class Diagrams, Sequence Diagrams, Component Diagrams

? Ability to apply design concepts – layered architectures, components, interfaces, messaging and patterns.

? Ability to lead a group through an architectural development process and collaborate with application development teams, architects and other members of the software development team

? Ability to discover and define technical requirements

? Use of Service Oriented Architectures in high volume transaction environments

? Experience with rules engine(s) and/or work-flow tools is a plus

? Property & Casualty Insurance systems development experience is a strong plus

? Strong understanding of both traditional SDLC as well as Agile development methodologies

? Outstanding written and verbal communication skills are required
