Job Description

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Blackboard’s Global Services team works with clients to solve a wide variety of technology challenges. Using both industry standard and cutting edge technologies our consultants develop innovative, custom solutions that extend, enhance and integrate Blackboard’s enterprise products. Consultants work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, and interface directly with clients to define requirements, draft specifications and implement software solutions.


The Project Coordinator will play an integral role in the success of the group.  Specifically s/he will:

  • Be accountable for overall performance and delivery of defined scope(s) of work as indicated by customer satisfaction, quality of products and/or services provided, level of profitability attained and other such measures as may be designated.
  • Serve as primary customer contact and manages overall company customer interface relationships for defined scope(s) of work to ensure responsiveness to customer needs and effective professional conduct. Responsible for keeping all internal parties informed of project status and issues.
  • Provides functional and technical guidance to consulting staff and management. Will also perform as a project lead on technical projects or in resolution of technical problems that would critically impact performance, schedule or cost.
  • Develop project schedules and documentation; defines and assigns work to consultants assigned to Project; monitors and controls work in progress for technical adequacy; and provides active assistance to meet schedules or resolve complex technical or customer requirements.
  • Establishe metrics and monitors progress to assure contract compliance, customer satisfaction and attainment of company commitments and objectives; reports progress to appropriate levels of management and customers.
  • Actively identify additional/expanded tasking with existing customers and defines technical requirements for draft statements of work.

 

Required Experience

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED SKILLS:


  • A minimum of 2 years proven experience in  project management leading clients and team members through complex system implementations and integrations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage several concurrent projects with high level of client interaction.
  • Experience in using Project management scheduling applications, Microsoft Project, and Office applications
  • Excellent communication skills and record of proactive client communication.
  • Experience in managing projects within an organization utilizing a matrixed/shared resource model.  This job provides direction/leadership to others as a project lead and/or technical specialists.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, communication, analytical and problem solving skills, short term and long term planning skills.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English are required, Spanish fluency a plus.
  • Background in web technologies and enterprise application implementations in a UNIX/Oracle or Windows/SQL environment.
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree; with 3-5 years work related experience in a relevant technical discipline.


PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • PMP or equivalent certification.
  • Previous experience in the education industry and e-learning technologies
  • Background in content/knowledge management, digital asset management, as well as with education related technologies.


Travel: 10% - Primarily Remote Client Engagements
