Aviation-Environmental Systems Analyst

Job Description :

ATAC has an opening for an Aviation Systems Analyst. The successful candidate will participate in developing, applying, and maintaining state-of-the-art environmental (noise and emissions) computer models, including the FAA's Aviation Environmental Design Tool (AEDT). In addition, they will participate on environmental projects such as Airport Cooperative Research Projects (ACRP) and NASA Research Announcements (NRA). Areas of effort include:

  • Environmental prediction algorithm development, assessment and application
  • Software coding (primarily in C#)
  • Environmental modeling research projects
  • Airport and airspace noise and emissions analysis studies
  • Technical and management presentations
  • Technical report writing

A background check will be required for this position.

This is a full-time position that can be located in either Sunnyvale, CA, or a new Boston, MA, branch office. ATAC especially welcomes candidates interested in helping to establish a new branch office in the Boston, MA, area.

Job Requirements :

Required are:

  • MS degree (PhD desired) in aerospace, mechanical or civil engineering operations research, applied mathematics or physics;
  • 2+ years of related job experience;
  • Strong analytical skills;
  • Familiarity with scientific programming;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and interpersonal relations skills;
  • U.S. citizenship or permanent residency A MUST!
  • Knowledge of physical acoustics and/or aircraft emissions; and experience in airport operations and aircraft flight performance are highly desirable

    In addition , the ideal candidate is a team player, is open to new ideas, technologies and development methodologies, think both logically and creatively, and approaches problems and problem solving with a positive and constructive attitude.
