MARKET ASSISTANT MANAGER
Tacoma, Washington (Pacific Avenue)
Ensures effective execution of all perishable operating policies, plans and programs in meat (and/or produce) departments to achieve projected sales and profit objectives. Assist the store management in setting and executing all work priorities and directing the assignment of individual tasks within the store.

Responsible for leading the meat/produce department in maintaining control of shrink, SPEH, product ordering, and merchandising to meat/produce company and division goals. Responsible for meat cutting, including working with primal cuts. Responsible for operating meat saw and coordinating cleaning procedures for equipment, tools and perishable areas.

Directs, counsels, audits and coordinates the activities of meat department in solving operation problems and in improving perishable department performance and conditions. Assist with customer service as needed. Assist store management in training and execution of good customer service in the store.

Share responsibilities with management of a properly maintained store in compliance with Save-a-Lot standards. Share with management the responsibilities for a clean, neat, well-stocked and friendly store. Share with store management the responsibility for the implementation and compliance of all company accounting policies and procedures in compliance with company standards and practices. Share with management the responsibilities for hiring, training, and developing store personnel.

Requirements and Responsibilities:

o High School diploma or equivalent
o Two years of previous experience directly leading meat department is required. Some knowledge and experience with produce department preferred. Experience using pallet jack, hand tools and power equipment, knives, meat slicers, grinders, cubing machine and power saw.
o Effective oral and written communication skills; excellent customer service skills; occasionally required to lift up to 80 lbs; dependable and flexible; must adhere to uniform dress code.
