The Tommy Hilfiger Internship Program offers bright, motivated individuals the opportunity to receive mentorship, supervision, and training while gaining valuable and realistic hands on experience and an introduction to the fashion industry. We have an exciting opportunity for an intern to work within our design department for the fall 2009 semester. Please note that all internships are unpaid and for academic credit only. All candidates must provide written proof that they will be able to receive credit prior to beginning our internship program.

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with design team. Styling samples, trim rigging, and image mounting
  • Designing- Assist design team with sketching and inking. Work on artwork for sweaters, knits, and tees. Pitch ideas to pass to CAD department.
  • Assemble presentation boards- trim boards, print boards and sketch boards.
  • Research ideas seasonal design concepts, trims, colors, stripes and patterns, etc
  • Organize design room, closets, and books.
  • Tech packs- help designer and associate designer w/ tech packs that will be sent out to overseas factories. Isis , technical sketching, and pitching artwork.

TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Working with colors to pitch stripes and prints.
  • Flat sketch drawing and inking.
  • Understanding garment construction.
  • Laying out images presentation boards.
  • Computer skills- scanning, photoshop, excel
  • Styling for concept.
