We are seeking an energetic, hard working Web Support Specialist, who is looking for a challenging opportunity to support a mission critical Windows 2000/2003 Web Platform. The hours for this position are for the 3rd shift from 10:30 PM until 7:30 AM. This position reports to the Web Operations Manager.
· 2 + years Microsoft Windows Server administration experience. · 1 + years experience with Web servers and IIS. · Windows PC/Server installation (unpacking and building). · Patch and reboot Windows servers based on company policies. · Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and communications skills · Basic understand DNS, DHCP, SMTP, HTTP, FTP, SMNP, and TCP/IP. · Working knowledge of Windows 2000/2003 Server, Active Directory, MS Office, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Internet Explorer. · Ability to interface well with all levels of the Technical community. · Ability to operate computers and move computer equipment up to 50 lbs. · This is a 3rd shift support role within our Network Ops Center ; the employee will work alone 90% of the time and must be able to work with little supervision. · Financial industry experience a plus · Technical BS or equivalent experience is required Duties: · Self motivated and ability to work alone with minimal supervision, this is a must. · React to monitors, alerts and pages; follow written instructions to take corrective action. · Monitor and maintain a custom built trading application. · Install, patch and reboot Windows 2000/2003 servers based on company policy. · Investigate and resolve Help Desk trouble ticket issues. · Investigate Windows server Event Log errors. · Answer night/early morning support calls from optionsXpress employees/outside vendors and escalate when necessary. · Perform server hardware upgrades as needed and instructed. · Lift and move computer equipment up to 50 lbs. · Maintain an effective customer interface while performing computer and desktop support · Provide morning status report of corrective actions and outstanding issues. optionsXpress offers competitive salaries, including incentive compensation, and an excellent benefits package and 401k plan.
