The primary responsibility of this position is to identify, close on and grow volume within an assigned geography. This role emphasizes aggressively establishing new accounts and significantly growing assigned account base by developing creative ways to assist customers in meeting business objectives. This will result in incremental profitable new business. The Customer Service Manager will develop strong long-term working relationships with customers.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Responsible for managing the customer relationships; service requirements and volume for accounts assigned to a Division. 2. Demonstrates good judgment when required to balance the needs to the customer, driver productivity and profitability. 3. Is capable of selling new business opportunities to potential customers, and can up-sell with existing customers. 4. Ability to solicit, price, negotiate, sell and win same day business that helps close gaps within a particular geography. 5. Can work with the planning managers and customers to execute the defined customer strategy by taking complete ownership of loads from beginning to end. 6. Manage list of Customer Service Key Performance indicators: On-time pickup and delivery, customer satisfaction survey results, phone metrics, etc. 7. Can work with the Sales Mangers and Planning Managers in a construction manner the moves the business and Division forward. 8. Superior planning and organizing skills that allow foresight and anticipation of market and customer needs. 9. Manages a small group of drivers to ensure service and maintain skill set to run, staff, and manage all positions within the Division as well as back-up staffing as required. EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
· Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred. · Minimum of three years relevant work experience. · Strong communication/interpersonal skills with ability to adapt and integrate to multiple communication styles · Possess high level of energy/initiative · Self motivated with the ability to handle changing priorities · Attention to detail and strong planning and organizing skills, ability to multitask · Understanding of profitability and financial concepts · Possess high level of initiative and interest or aptitude for sales · Able to be a team player · Excellent phone skills |
