Sutter Health Support Services (SHSS) is the Support Center for the Sutter Health affiliates, which houses all non-medical support departments that are not provided at the affiliates. It provides expertise and guidance to support affiliate functional departments.
The Healthcare Risk Secretary provides complete, professional secretarial, administrative and technical support to the Director, and Consultants for the Healthcare Risk Department. Other duties include development and maintenance of the Department intranet, database development and support, preparation of presentation materials, coordination of seminar meetings, travel arrangements, and preparation/distribution of information to Healthcare Risk and Sutter Health Affiliates
This position is unique in that sensitive patient incidents necessitate handling work with extreme confidentiality and discretion · Education: High school education and advanced training in business communications and in the application and use of Microsoft Office; desktop publishing systems, and graphics software programs is required. Training in database management, web applications and other related computer software programs is desirable. · Experience: Previous experience demonstrating competence as a secretary, preferably within a healthcare organization, is required. Advanced skills in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, and Powerpoint) and desktop publishing are required. Experience with website development is highly desirable. Experience with medical, legal, insurance and financial terminology is highly desirable. · Knowledge: Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office is required. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are required. The incumbent must be able to work with minimal supervision. The ability to effectively establish priorities and meet deadlines when receiving work from more than one person is required. Knowledge of legal documents is highly desirable. · Special Skills/Equipment: Must be self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision on highly confidential information. The candidate must demonstrate exceptional organizational skills and the ability to balance numerous priorities at a given time, meeting multiple deadlines. Excellent written and oral communication skills are required, including the ability to diplomatically investigate sensitive facts and detailed procedures and obtain necessary documentation. Typing speed of 55 wpm is required. Prior experience using Microsoft Office and other programs is required. Prior experience using graphic software is required.
