GENERAL SUMMARY

Works with a team of professionals that brings together the full range of technical and business competencies needed to assist Senior Management with the successful achievement of their priorities, which are consistent with EMC’s goals and objectives. Provides leadership and oversight on all aspects of a project or Program translating business requirements into systems solutions. Is seen as a senior IT Professional with a broad range of understanding of IT technologies and business processes. Manages the delivery of the functional design, technical design, build, test, and readiness components of program. Establishes and maintains a close-working relationship with all program stakeholders and technical staff to ensure alignment between solutions being delivered to business goals. Possesses the required technical knowledge to manage all aspects of a Information Technology program (Applications, Infrastructure, networks, and Security). The Sr. Program Manager is responsible for the overall day to day management of one or more medium to large sized projects. The Sr. Program Manager will be expected to oversee the work of more other PMs and team members. The ideal candidate has experience with Agile methodologies such as Scrum and can play a key role as Scrum Master on enterprise size programs, managing the efforts of several Scrum teams in parallel.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Manages / Orchestrates large Information Technology programs, which include applications, infrastructure, systems, storage, networks, and security technologies from the design phase through development, testing, readiness, and stabilization phase. Most likely will have matrix management reporting responsibilities.

  • Participates in functional and technical Operational Decision Team meetings and is responsible for program estimation, planning, technical designs, and the program delivery schedule. Must fully understand how to use and ensure data is accurately maintained in EMC IT Project Management Tools (HP Project Management, MS Projects, Primavera,) and be fully proficient in MS Office (PowerPoint, Word, XL)

  • Develops and maintains project and resource plans, maintains quality and focus, monitors and controls project expenditures against approved budget and successfully manages end to end solution delivery process for one or more large scale IT projects or programs or oversees multiple medium to large size projects with minimal direction. Projects and Programs will most likely be very cross functional in nature where multiple teams will need to effectively collaborate together.

  • Day to day resource management of program team ensuring effective delivery of projects tasks, deliverables, and milestones on time on budget and within specification and or agreed upon program scope.

  • Organizes and delivers program related communications as determined during program governance formation. Responsible for ensuring all program stakeholders based on the level of interest and authority are well informed of program progress and decisions.

  • Educates business partner on appropriate technical solutions. Has the ability to influence decision makers to steer technical decisions and designs on the project. Communicates delivery status, issue management and resolution.

Experience Required: 10+ years of past Project / Program Management experience involving technology solutions.
