Seeking .Net Development Lead/ Architect



BASIC PURPOSE:

Work closely with Pratt & Miller Engineering software development team to lead them in the development of Pratt & Miller software products. Pratt & Miller develops mission critical applications for engineering programs in the OEM automotive, motorsport and aerospace/defense markets.

PRIMARY TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Candidate will have primary technical responsibility for .Net development activities and products. The following responsibilities will be required:

  • Technical lead for Pratt & Miller software team to design and develop Pratt & Miller’s software suite using .Net technologies.
  • Work closely with project managers to make sure projects are on track through out the development cycle. Assist project managers in scope estimation and work breakdown structure to detail necessary tasks
  • Develop, maintain, and enforce coding standards and best practices through tech meetings and code reviews
  • Guide and mentor developers in practical use of application frameworks, design patterns, design standards and best practices
  • Work with Database Architects, SMEs, and BAs to develop overall .Net architectures based on specifications and database design
  • Coordinate and manage Pratt & Miller software application build process
  • Coordinate and direct QA testing activities post-build
  • Guide and participate in Unit Testing activities to minimize the number of issues generated due to missed or violated specifications, both during new development and issue resolution phases
  • Act as a senior developer and contribute to the development of the products

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

In addition to the technical responsibilities mentioned above, management tasks relating to the following areas will be assigned as required:

  • Guide technology decisions by evaluating and recommending specific software and programming technologies
  • Manage software development resources across all CAE development projects
  • Develop common, consistent and commercial level .Net architectures across all Pratt & Miller software products
  • Assist in strategic planning of Pratt & Miller’s software commercialization. Includes evaluating emerging market potential, new software and programming technologies and resources required to execute.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of integration strategies for all PME applications
  • Interaction with current and potential customers regarding the use of Pratt & Miller Engineering tools
  • Provide education and training to internal and external software users
  • Provide feedback on product needs and processes


ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

· BS or MS in Computer Engineering or Computer Science

· At least 10 years of software development experience using Microsoft technologies.

· At least 3 years experience as a .Net architect or technical lead to a development team

· Strong analytical and organizational skills

· Strong Windows Forms application development experience

· Strong object-orientated design and implementation skills

· Strong database application development skills

· Strong working experience in Microsoft VB.Net and Microsoft SQL Server application development

· Experience with source code version control software (Subversion)

· Experience in application build processes using NANT scripting

· Experience with Crystal Reports

· General engineering knowledge/understanding of mathematics

· Very good leadership, interpersonal, verbal and writing skills
