Education Level: B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or related (or foreign equivalent)
Job Description:
Design driver software and implement enabling technologies for our next generation of world-class smartphone devices; Design, implement, and optimize baseband device driver software for smartphone devices, including but not limited to USB/UART, Flash/RAM, Audio and GPIO; Work with the hardware design team to identify root causes of various real world issues; Communicate with chip vendors on software issues and seek resolution; Solve complex software problems in a given time frame; Explain issues to management and counterparts; Escalate critical issues to management based on accurate technical analysis; Initiate new ideas to improve quality of Palm products; Enhance Palm patent portfolios through innovations; and, Present various device driver topics to a cross functional audience.
Required Skills/Knowledge:
Experience with USB driver stack development in an embedded environment; Linux device drivers; debuggers, including QualComm QPST, QxDM and JTAG; USBView and CATC USB Tracer.
