Integrated Software Solutions
Designed by scientists for scientists, Symyx Software provides a one-source solution for scientific teams to increase the productivity of their labs. Symyx’s powerful platform allows for simple design and execution of experiments, data aggregation, analysis and sharing of information, logistics and decision-support. We designed our user interface around chemists’ protocols and terminology, making the transition to our system seamless. Modular Workflow Solutions
Symyx Tools designs and builds customizable workflows that allow scientific teams to automate complete lab processes and increase testing capacity by 10-100 times. Our modular and scalable systems allow clients to better plan for capital expenditures and to grow and evolve based on business needs, not on lab capabilities. We offer both custom and preconfigured applications, and our basic Benchtop System can be appended to incorporate analytics and become part of a fully integrated workflow.
Research
Bringing together the power of our software systems and proprietary workflows with the skills and experience of our scientists, engineers and software programmers, Symyx Labs works on behalf of our customers to discover and optimize materials. Using traditional methods, a chemist and technician will perform 500 to 1,000 experiments per year. With our proprietary high-throughput technology, we can run 50,000 or more, then use Symyx Software to aggregate and analyze the data. By partnering with Symyx, our customers are finding a fast and cost-effective R&D solution. We work with customers by providing research services, collaborations and partnerships that leverage our significant research assets.
Intellectual Property Licensing
As innovators in the materials field, Symyx is able to selectively license our patents, materials, technology and OEM software. We enable customers to implement initial approaches to high-throughput materials research in their laboratories by licensing certain patents, including our broad methodology patents. - 401(K) Savings Plan: All employees are eligible to defer up to 60% of their salary up to the maximum allowed by the IRS which is $15,000 (or up to $20,000 for employees age 50 and older), this 2006 calendar year . Symyx provides a 401(k) Match Program of 50% of an employee’s contribution, up to 2% of the employee’s salary.
- Medical: Symyx offers employees coverage under a PPO plan through Aetna and covers the substantial majority of the cost associated with the medical premiums for employees and dependents.
- Dental: Symyx offers PPO dental coverage for employees and dependents through Humana and can be used for dental providers in and out of the provider network.
- Vision: Both Aetna and Kaiser offer basic vision coverage under their medical plans for employees and their dependents.
- Flexible Spending Accounts: Employees may elect to participate in the Health Care Spending Account (“HCSA”) and/or the Dependent Care Spending Account (“DCSA”) and set aside up to $5,000 pre-tax dollars for the HCSA and $5,000 pre-tax dollars for the DCSA.
- Disability: Symyx provides both short and long -term disability insurance (“STD” and “LTD” respectively) to cover lost wages due to any absence caused by illness or disability that is beyond 7 calendar days.
- Life Insurance: Basic Life Insurance of 3x annual salary is provided by Symyx for all employees.
- Employee Assistance Program (EAP): The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) offers a counseling and consultation service designed to help you and your eligible family members with a wide range of personal issues.
- Decathlon Club And The Athletic Club Of Bend: Symyx makes available memberships at the Decathlon Club in Santa Clara, CA and the Athletic Club of Bend, and other approved clubs. The Company pays 50% of the employee initiation fees and half of the monthly dues for a standard membership.
- Travel Insurance: Symyx provides Business Travel Accidental Death & Dismemberment insurance to all employees effective on your date of hire.
- Employee Stock Purchase Plan: The Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP) is a facility that allows employees to purchase Symyx stock at a discount through payroll deferrals.
- Time Off Work: Starting from date of hire, employees accrue 15 vacation days per year as well as 10 absence days. Additionally, Symyx offers 10 paid company holidays.
- Food Service: Symyx provides an on-site cafeteria in its California offices with continental breakfast and lunch for all employees who participate in the plan.
- Commuter Checks: Symyx allows its employees to use pre-tax dollars up to $1,260 per year ($105 per month) to pay for Commuter Checks.
