Is it true that you can get a job as a bank teller once you complete high school?
Asked by mkrhino
I've just finished high school, and one of my best friends told me that even though I'm only 16, once I receive my high school diploma, I can become a bank teller. Is this true? Thank you!

You may have to be 18 because you would be responsible for large sums of money. Bank teller is an entry level position though, when you get older you could. Congrats on finishing early!

Each state and company has different requirements. Since you are under 18, and if you are in the U.S., you are governed by Child Labor Laws, so there may be restrictions on the amount of hours you can work or the types of machinery that you can operate.
If you have had some accounting experience, you have nothing to lose by completing a job application. I would also submit a resume which shows any experience you have had with problem solving, ensuring projects are completed error free, working with customers, financial transactions, computer entry, and dependability. All are good qualities for a bank teller.
Good luck to you on your job search.
