Asked by AJ
also, since we are in a recession, how likely is it that they would require you to immediately do a 20 hour training program and what kinds of things do they ask you to do etc? how likely is it that they would find you a job to work immediately? they say you have to accept it and cannot quit it? when do they give you your first welfare payment too and if you dont accept this job, how quickly do they end your payments on EBT card? if wishing to find work yourself? please explain how it works.

To be honest with you, I really do not know if President Obama's passed stimulus package will contribute to welfare offices being much more generous or not. But, my higher wit tells me that that answer would be no. You know good and well that the government does not want to give you anything. And, if they do, you better believe that they will be all in your business. They want to know how much money you have in the bank, and who lives with you and who's helping you. They don't want to take care of you. And, the last time I checked, if you are getting welfare they will require you to be signed up in the job training program. And, where I live they expect you to show up monday thru friday between the hours of 8-5 to make sure that you are actively seeking employment. And, yes, they want you to accept whatever job comes your way. As far as food stamps are concerned, you may be good with that. Best of luck to you. It's rough in today's economy. I know too many people who are out of work. Try Indeed.com
