How to be successful in the insurance industry?

I have been in the insurance industry for 7 yrs. I lost my job last summer as an acct executive for small to mid size accounts. I want to advance my career and work somewhere where I would be trained to handle large accounts and eventually travel for client meetings. Anyone have any advice?

I would check with other insurance companies. Speak with their human resources people and see what they advise. You could always start your own general insurance agency and then you could work on any size accounts you wish.
