what is the best job in the oil or mining industry (alberta) that doesnt require an awful lot of schooling, training, etc? arent there any jobs there that are...fairly straight forward & pay very well? thanks

There are tonnes of jobs. It depends on where you want to live. In Alberta, there are power line locators, medics, drilling crews. They all pay very well. If you can live remotely for a while, you can make thousands of dollars a week on a drilling crew. They feed and house you there and because there are no stores around you can save your money. Drilling guys can make > $1o0,000 per year or more in Alberta, depending on how much you want to work. Office jobs require schooling and training.
