How do you get hired as a customer service representative if you've never been one before?

I've been with Target for a year now anad want to be a customer service rep. What do I need to put on my resume if I've never been one before? One of my applications was already rejected.

Well, you already have customer service experience probably, so that's one skill. Also, work on your typing skills and put your wpm (words per minute) on your resume. Some companies also like sales experience. You might need to start out as a telemarketer to gain experience on your resume. That was my first csr job.
I agree with "I love Bob", you can probably creatively add your current skills to your resume that you already have, which line up with your desired position.
I've had many csr positions.

Let them know that you have experience handling customer complaints, and giving your undivided attention to the customer. That's what they look for.

One of your applications was rejected? These companies take people from India that can't even speak english! Have you seen most CSRs? A more pathetic form of life has never been discovered. There's obviously something seriously wrong with your resume to get rejected for a CSR. Have a resume writer go over it.
