What is the best way to obtain an outside sales position with no sales experience and only an associates degre
Asked by Stephen G
I have always been told that I can be extremely persuasive and should be in sales. I have a great resume with excellent refferences but no sales experience to speak of. I also have an Associates Degree but in no particular field, it is general studies. What steps must I take to obtain an outside sales position or an Account Executive position?

Sales is one of the toughest careers but the highest paid career in the world. Outside sales is even tougher due to lost time traveling between calls. Outside sales requires that you sell big ticket items to make up for that lost travel time.
Is there something in which you are an expert or have a passion for that could relate to a product that needs to be sold?
To make top money you need to be a sales "specialist", an expert about a specific product or product line.
General sales jobs are a dime a dozen but specialized sales jobs go begging because there are few experts in the product line.
Your first sales job is to sell someone on giving you your first sales job. If you truly are persuasive, you'll get the job easily. You will convince the employer that you have what it takes to generate sales for the company.
