What would happen, if you called a retail store home office, and complain about a manager?
Asked by Andrew
What would happen, if this happened?
A job applicant applied for a job, at a retail store. The retail store was hiring at the time, and the job applicant did qualify for the job he applied for. The manager looked over the application, and didn't want to interview the particular applicant. A few days later, the applicant calls the manager of the store he applied at. The job applicant asked the manager about his applicantion, and about getting an interview. Next the manager said offensive things to the applicant, over the phone. The manager went off on how he (the applicant), doesn't have what it takes to be a successful employee, and starts calling the applicant, all kinds of names.
What would happen, if the applicant hung up and called the home office of the store? After the applicant told a represenitive what had happen with the manager of the store, would that manager get in trouble? Would the manager face some type of consequence, for being rude?
What would the consequences be, if there would be any given to the manager?

Best Answer:
I would certainly write and complain.
Clearly lay out your case in order adding times and dates.
Explain the abuse you received.
Many companies do not get complaints about their managers, and rely on the public to keep them informed.
Consequences. That will depend upon the relationship between the manager in question and the upper management.
It could result in a slap on the wrist to disciplinary action such as a warning.
A:
Most likely there would be some consequence because no company wants to have somebody unsatisfied with their staff, whether it be a customer, employee or potential employee.

It depends on the store and their home office policies. Also, I doubt you'd get a job there after you complained, but it sounds like that manager's actions need to be looked into. There's no reason to treat an applicant like that.
