Would getting licensed and experience in a financial service company like NYlife,a good way to start a biz...?
Asked by g.taxconsultant
I do tax consulting so Iam thinking of combining my tax practice, with some financial services, and products like insurance and maybe eventually mutualfunds or loans and some financial planning its a long trip down the road but persistence and focus would hopefully help. if people have some good adviced or ideas i would always welcome them.

A natural path from tax consulting is financial planning. You can consult clients with their personal finance, make financial plans etc. You can start with a passing grade in Series 65; and a CFP certification if you are looking further down the road to go into investment advice, insurance, trust, estate.
Working for companies like NYLife is mostly about selling products. Series 6, 7 to start selling mutual funds and insurance. Series 66 to be eligible as both investment adviser and insurance agent. Potential earning for these positions is high, if you are a good sells person.
Best wishes.

send an email to dana@corpthis.com and inquire about becoming an afiliate and you will be working in the business services world. They pay you very well and that will help you advance.
