What should you do when ur a manager and ur assistant is walking all over you?

I am a new manager for one store and I am the youngest among the rest. I just graduated and suddenly I become a manager. The thing is this store has so many foreign people who dont speak english well. My assistant manager, she is acting like she is better than me and deserve to be a manager instead of me. She would complain to me why I get 1day and a half off in a week. While her, she can't speak english that well, 4 days in a week she goes home around 3 and 4 pm. she does not want me to change her schedule because the reason of her son's schedule. The thing is my boss backing her up but I have the area manager being nice to me. What should I do. She is not an assistant manager material because she does not do paper works and only work helping costumer, she can't back me up in days where I cant stay till late because I have other job. She would be upset to me and talking in her language with other co-workers. what should i do in my situation like this?

find a new job, since your boss above you is taking her side, he isn't backing up you and he should be.
