what skills are learned in banking that can apply in project managemnt?

I am a retired banker tying to get a job as a project manager.What skills did i acquire in banking that are relevant to project management?

I hope you can see the skills that you have acquired that will help you manage projects. Otherwise, you wouldn't know that you want to go into project management! Anyway, the analytical skills you used in banking will come in handy. But the biggest part of project management is getting a team of people (today most of the time is cross functional, cross global, and cross cultural in nature) together to accomplish a set of goals or a product that will be useful to your customer, whether inside the company (like at IT project) or outside the company in the greater marketplace. So great people skills are a MUST. Although some people would probably argue with that. So think about why you want to be a project manager and what kind of projects you want to manage. That will help guide you and help you figure out the fit from your previous jobs. Good Luck!
