What qualifications do i need to be a resort manager?
Asked by paradiseforever2003
It is my dream to be a resort manager in the carribean preferably. I am in school right now taking my business degree and then I was going to take a 2 year diploma to be a hotel/resort manager. I don't know if there is anything else I need. I'm sure I need work experience as well but is there anything else I need?

Best Answer:
You need a degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management. I also suggest you gain experience by participating in 2 internships while you're completing your degree.

I would suggest working in a hotel part time when you are in school at the front desk, concierge or housekeeping. This will help you gain an insight on the industry and be familiar with practices and terms. Try to get an intership in a large hotel corporation somewhere also.
