What is the purpose of meeting with Human Resource manager at the end of my job interview?

I am scheduled to go into a large company and to meet with hiring manager, two other managers, and wrap up with the HR manager. I wonder what the purpose of the HR manager is.

The HR person usually has a good reading of potential candidates and will ask some more general questions to get a read of your personallity. They might also be the person to talk to you about company benefits, pay and vacation as many times departmental managers are not really very versed on these issuses. Also there might be some issues with your application or resume they need cleared up before they can make a decision. It is a very normal practice.

You have to look at things this way, there are those on the company side who are focusing more on if you're the right one for this job, and whether you'll fit in with the overall company itself. The hiring managers are the ones who will concentrate their efforts in determining whether you're the one for that job, because they know best what the job involves and the skills needed. But the HR manager is the one who knows about all the company's personnel, and so he or she can best decide how you'll fit in with the rest of the employees. Plus, that person knows the things like the benefits packages and pay scales better than anybody else. And so, they're basically splitting the hiring process between the two, which isn't uncommon at all.
