You might want to try calling all the Drilling companies in the phone book.
Most are working right now, but spring break-up is just around the corner.
A roughneck starts out at about $20/hr plus a daily living allowance. They vary from $95-$120/day. You work 12 hour shifts and are usually responsible for your own food and lodging which you take out of your living allowance.
It's very hard work, especially in the cold, but the paycheques usually make up for it. You also need to be sure you have the proper clothing and boots to get started. A vehicle helps as well.
If you call the Drilling companies, like Akita, tell them that you are green, but looking for a lease-hand or roughneck job and take it from there.

You could probably get a job as a "Hotshot", they pick up and deliver parts to oil fields. You could try Collicuts (spelling might be wrong), they supply parts among other things.

Go to the oilpatch, go onsite and ask for a job, labour is short and they will train you if you look like a promising employee
