why does a Insurance underwriter need a certificate?

I mean what do they do besides drink coffee at their desks and type on their computers after looking at the qualifications of applicants. Its not like it very difficult any more so than working a cash register at McDonalds.

The certificate proves he is registered at LLoyds and complies with all the conditions to trade as an Underwriter.

i think working the cash register at mcdonalds is a lot more difficult, i mean c'mon, all the big macs and did they want fries with that and was that supersized or regular or was it a meal............... DURRRRRRRRRRRR............. LOL
