i am 31 years old.now working as a sales engineer but not satisfied. want to work in software field?suggest ?

I am B.E(Mech) with second class. uptill now i was totally from different field. rightnow i don't have strong experience of any field. Working as a sales engg. in MNC but not satisfied in sales. want to be in software field. done software testing course but don't have confidence that i can do it after having long gap in education.Pls. sugggest what to do?
