Is the insurance industry a good business to get into?

I am thinking about going to work at an insurance company because 10$ per hour is just not cutting it...I want to know from those who DO REALLY know if insurance is a good idea to get certified in and work for?

What type of insurance are you going into? I know a lot of people who have taken that route and many successful.. Depending on what type of insurance, you may want to keep your job for the time being and once you really start bringing in money, then quit your job. But again, it depends on what type of insurance.
