What is the best job to work in Construction?
Asked by SweetBrunette
I am interested in making a living in construction. I am currently working as a temp as administration assistant.
I cannot carry more than 20 pounds, and I am extremely good at detail work.
I refuse to be an architect, and I already have 2 bachelors.

The perfect job for you is in Quality Assurance, or inspection services. This is a specialized section of contruction that requires access and knowledge of construction methods and materials, but no actual physical lifting or work, other than inspecting materials, collecting samples, and documenting as required.
It can require extensive knowledge of design requirements and good attention to details.
The Bio-Pharmaceutical construction services would probably supply you with the most in opportunities.

Supervisor usually has it real good. To get there however is a pain and involves a ton of backbreaking labour else sleeping with the boss could get you the job. ;-)

First off if you have 2 bachelors why on earth would you want to go into construction? i work construction and its miserable, it doesnt pay anywhere near as well as something like an architect, i think youd be selling yourself short, BUT if thats really what you want to do then id have to say Cabinetry, thats what i do now and its the most enjoyable of all the construction trades, you arent required to do alot of heavy lifting really ,not on your own anyway and theres alot of detail work involved, i know of a couple females that do it and they are small people but they can handle the job just fine, theres also positions in cabinetry that involve computer aided drafting (designing kitchens and offices sort of thing) that might be a cool gig.
