How do I start a career as an Underwriter Trainee with a major fortune 500 company?

Do you have a college degree and do you have any experience within the industry? If so, put together your resume and do a job search online for companies in your area. Apply for a Jr. Underwriter position or request an internship.

i would say start with an internship if you are in college. if you are college graduate, then look at whatever company you are interested in at their entry level positions.
Whether it is Merrill Lynch or SmithBarney, this is really a good season to start as a trainee. One great website is Vault.com which allows you to browse different interships and opportunities by location should help.
