Clothing needed in the oilfield oil field?
Asked by roughneck
What kinds and how much clothing does a guy need in the oilfield (eastern montana). I'm starting this winter, so I know I'll need warm stuff. Any suggestions?

Insulated overalls, coveralls.....Steal toes are a must have on any rig. If you have to purchase your own clothing, go with Carhart. Do not buy cheap work clothes or boots, there is a big difference.

Work boots, might want to go with steel toe, but you have to remember that if something heavy hits that steel, you lose your toes. So maybe no steel toe. Lots of cheap clothes, especially jeans. They will be disgusting, and you will never want to get undressed in doors. Best to dress and undress in a garage. Your boots and jeans will quickly become solely for work. I suggest a spanish book, or eng-span translation book. Unless you are doing land work or something like that, these are all your best options.
